Swiftlet farming to produce Edible Bird’s Nnests (EBN) is considered a very lucrative industry. Today, there are many techniques have been developed to lure the swiftlet Aerodramus Fuciphagus species into building their nest in the designated swiftlet house. Successful swiftlet farming is subjected to a lot of factors such as swiftlet population, the sustainability of swiftlet food sources, swiftlet house design and its micro and macrohabitat environmental condition. This paper presents the current general practises of swiftlet farming in Malaysia focusing on swiftlet population survey, house design and its microhabtat control and monitoring, and issues as well as challenges faced by the swiftlet operators.
